Colors of Spring 2018

This spring, I've noted floral patterns, both traditional and tropical abound.   I also noticed

a lot of navy paired with canary yellow, teal blue, lime greens and light avocados, and lots of mixed patterns.  Talbot's spring catalog features navy stripes paired with navy polka dots.  Dots of all kinds are popular; I am reminded of Princess Diana's phases with"spots" where even her anklets had tiny dots on them. Bold navy skirts are patterned with bright yellow flowers, and accessories match the outfits.  These are sometimes topped with classic denim jackets, a look I've particularly loved and revisited many times.Straw bags are also in.

I will do shoes in a separate post, but mules with little bows are popular, as are flats.  Kate Spade has a darling pair decorated like yellow New York taxis.  They are pricey, though at $278.  Wait for the sale. 

Sandals and Mary Janes of all types are very popular for spring, as are pastel and metallic tennis shoes.  Get a pair at Target on sale in silver for $6.  I also just bought a velvety, pale pink Converse pair for only $11.

Embroidered details like pink octopuses, anchors, and sailboats are very popular. These repeat themselves on flats done in the popular colors of the season on Talbot's shoes. Deck shoes in al colors are alos hot, and they go well with walking shorts in tropical prints in blue, yellow, and white palettes.
