One of the great joy for us collectors/bargain hunters is the chance to go to after holiday sales. I love the thrill of the holiday itself, of decorating, of fixing those special foods, and of sending those special cards. Vintage décor is the best; I look all year for it. Here are some pictures of some of my finds this year.
The best year ever took place about twenty years ago; Target had loads and loads of Halloween left, and within days after, it was 90% off!! I got a lot of Halloween for Xmas that year, and my mom, who was my chopping/collecting partner, just loved it. Since then, I've been spoiled. It has to be t least 75% off, but 90% is best! Tips for doing percentages, if it's 75% take the price divide in half, and divide that amount in half again. So, if it's $100, half is $50; divide 50 in half, and the cost is$25. If it's 90%off, move the decimal point over, so if it's $100.00, move over the decimal point, and it's $10.00. If it's $249.99, Moe it over and its $24.99. If it's $5.00 move it over and its $.50.
On Tuesday the 6th, I added to my sticker collection for free; I voted. My dad started this collection, and you can see the one I added to the far right. I find it very exciting to vote, and enjoy watching everyone else take his/her turn. It is a right many other countries do not have, and some never will. People have died for the right to vote; women have fought very hard for it and suffered for it. Rose O'Neill, the great artist and Kewpie doll creator, was a suffragette, and there are Kewpies marching for the right to vote.
